Job description

We are seeking a PostgreSQL Database Administrator with solid hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL environments and supporting cloud-based infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and proactive, with expertise in database administration and familiarity with AWS services. You will collaborate closely with system administrators and IT leadership to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of databases that support multiple products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to ongoing database migrations, upgrades, and optimization efforts.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to ensure system reliability and performance.

  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and monitoring strategies.

  • Automate routine tasks and health checks using scripting tools.

  • Analyze performance metrics and proactively address potential issues.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining DevOps best practices, tools, and documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to ensure alignment and timely updates.

  • Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and database systems.

Job requirements

  • 3+  years of experience in Database Administration, DevOps, or related roles.

  • Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, replication strategies, partitions, indexing, and performance optimization.

  • Proven experience with PostgreSQL migrations, especially on-premise to AWS RDS/EC2

  • Hands-on experience with key AWS services: RDS, DMS, EC2, S3.

  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Proficiency in Linux environments (CentOS/Red Hat) and Bash/Shell scripting.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and broader DevOps practices.

  • Familiarity with Go.
